Hi,
I want to apply for immigration of my Parents. My annual income is $72,000 and total house hold income is more than $110,000. We are two in family here, my wife and I, though have some future family plans.
I came to know that total processing time to apply for Parents from India is around 8 years.
May I know if it decreases the processing time, if I call my parents to Canada (Nova Scotia) on visitor visa and apply for their immigration from here?
I am absolutely zero in immegration things. All your suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks very much in advance.
Best Regards,
Jassi Sandhu
Your income is enough to sponsor your parents. Unfortunately, you cannot do anything regarding the processing times. It is currently taking 6 years and will go up to 8-10 years, for people who are applying today
Your parents can be on a visitor visa but they have to leave the country before the visa expiry. I know some people who take a 5 year visitor visa and leave the country for a couple of weeks before the six month period (they usually go to the U.S, if they have a multiple entry visa) and then come back to Canada. There is no way that they can remain continously in Canada (LEGALLY), while their application is being processed and if they do stay Illegally, then they wont get the immigration. It's that simple.
Your yearly income is enough to apply for your parents Immigration but you have to prove that you have the same consistent income for 2-3 years.
You can call them on visitors visa but you cannot apply here while they are here unless there are some exigent circumstances.
CIC will not allow you to get a PR for your parents while they are in Canada.
Thanks very much Freakoutguy and Zubairleon for your replies. I really appreciate your help.
Also, does it matter if I apply their Visitor Visa first or Permanent Residency first?
Actually, some people told me that their Visitor Visa may get rejected if I apply for their Permanent Residency first.
Thanks,

^ On behalf of Jassi.
You should apply for their visitor's visa, in case they want to visit you while the application is being processed. Also, there is no such thing that parents who have applied for PR, cannot apply for visitors visa. In fact, CIC has a directive of treating these visitors visa applications less strictly, due to the longer time periods for parental sponsorships.
Ok. Thanks very much Freakoutguy.
Your suggestions are very helpful to me. I really appreciate your this help.
Best Regards,
Jassi
