Traveling with a 20 month year old to india, in your experience which is more comfortable, please share pros and cons.
Do all airlines provide the basinette if you choose to keep the child in the lap. Is it more comfortable than the seat?
Also does the child actually sit in the seat, dont they get restless and want to run about. Thank you all...
For children > 12 mos , Airlines allot bassinets per availability & on a 1st come 1st boarded basis .... The front seats have more space so if needed you can put some blanket or bags on the floor and let your child sleep on it when needed .
Please try and insure first row seats if possible --- Airlines generally crib about them citing all kinds of reasons .....
Bassinet can be folded away / taken off in case you don't need it ... Or so I think.

Fido.
Babies normally does not like Basinet. It was a nightmare when i travel with my 4 months one alone, he doesnt like the basinet, he likes to be in my hand. And on top of that the lose motion, fever etc that i had encountered on my way back. Pls take all medication with you. If ever you are going back home, Baby tynelol is a must.
A bassinet is too small for a 20 month old baby. During take off and landing, you will have to secure baby to your own seat belt, and they do get uppity at that time. I have travelled many times with my kids especially when they were so small.... Some advice...
Take lots of different packet foods like : chips/cookies/chocolates - small packets of whatever they love.... It keeps them occupied for atleast 20-30 mins at any time.
Take lots of small and different toys : make sure the child jas never seen them .... Buy 6-8 not so expensive small toys .... Again these can occupy them for short duration of times... Especially when they get antsy.... Keep a separate small bag in which you keep these goodies... And don't show the contents to the child.... Just take out one goodie at a time when required..... Keep this only for the flight itself..... Don' t give it during waiting time at the airport or transit etc.....
Remember to carry baby food and milk powder in extra quantities.... Keep 8-10 diapers for the flight itself..... Wipes.... 3-4 change of clothes..... Kids Tylenol (small)....
Don't worry too much..... Definitely such trips become memories you will forever remember.... Be extra sweet to the crew... Being too demanding is a guarantee that they will avoid you... Otherwise, they are trained to identify and take special care of people with small kids.....
One last thing.... If your child is a no problem baby in general, chances are that he will be ok.... But, if your child is generally cranky and demanding.... Then, goodluck....
Make the same preparations for your return trip and load up on kurkure etc...
Bon voyage....
