I got traffic ticket worth of $ 18.75 for making prohibited left turn. i.e I did make a left turn where you can not make the left turn. This is my first offence in 8.5 years of driving in Canada. I have full G license. According to police officer for this offence normally fine of $ 110 and 2 demerits points. Since I have clean driving record he did not fine me $ 110 and also waive me from awarding any demerit points. My licence number is indicated on ticket. According to police officer if I pay the fine it will not show on my driving record, as per him he issued me a bylaw ticket. As per my knowledge if I pay fine I am accepting that I did make an offence and hence it will show on my record and possibly will affect my future insurence premiums. I need advise . Should I fight against it or not? My only concern is for my car insurance premiums . What should I do? All suggestions are appriciated.
I just had my ticket (same offence) thrown out of court. Basically, No Left Turn signs in Mississauga are illegal and cannot be enforced.
PM me your number and I'll call to discuss.
