OTTAWA — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Quality Natural Foods Limited are warning people with allergies to sulphites not to consume Haldiram’s Nagpur brand Petha Cubes Indian Sweets.
The affected products, which were sold across Canada, contain sulphites which aren’t declared on the label.
The products are in one kilogram and four kilogram packages and all UPC codes and best before dates are affected.
The CFIA says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the sweets.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to sulphites.
Quality Natural Food, the Toronto-based importer, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.
