I am applying for my PR card renewal (urgent) with proof of ticket purchase. CIC informed me that general processing times are 10 business days but no guarantees..

Has anyone been in a similar situation and can share the experience / actual timelines?

i have renewed my pr card recently ( 3 month ago) with the same process (urgent),

keep checking ur status online, i think within 1 week they made a decision but then they will send u a letter stating when and where to pick up the card...

In my case i did not received a letter till 2 weeks so called CIC and they told me to go directly and pick up the card...

I applied for the PR Card first week May and the decision was made same day. However it has been 7 weeks+ and I haven't heard from them. Upon calling CIC, they advised it is in the St Claire office and they will be calling me soon, this was 4 weeks ago but I haven't heard from them. CIC has also said that I cannot call the St Claire office, as they do not entertain phone queries, my only option is to wait. Cards cannot be picked up without appointments..

Rainbow, did you manage to call the office by any chance or was it CIC?

I called CIC and they ask me to go directly to st. clair office and pick it up....

Update: Picked up my PR Card today at the St. Claire office (without invitation / appointment), 5 minutes, no questions asked.

Sharing this for the benefit of others.: I called CIC at least 20 times in the past three weeks, and each time they said I should *not* visit the St. Claire office without appointment. If I don't hear from them, then I should arrange for a travel document....robots!

The St. Claire office said that they do not mail out pick up notification letters frequently as this creates too much rush in their office ....but confirmed they do entertain visits without appointments.

Thanks to Rainbow's advise, or my travel plans would have gone down the ditch.
