Hey all,
I'm a relatively new immigrant to Canada, and moved to Vancouver in Oct 2010. I'm in the Internet Marketing (Web Development, SEO, etc.) industry for the past 6+ years. I last worked in Dubai before coming to Canada, where I was for 3-4 years.
I've started up my own company in BC (I've incorporated, but generally operate under my own name - http://www.donnielthomas.com/ ), and am doing Internet Consulting for small businesses, for whom I develop websites, perform Internet Marketing services, etc. The going's good, but I feel the need to better understand the market, the 'Canadian way' of doing business, etc.
Does anybody know of any good forums for entrepreneurs here, especially tech-oriented ones? Are there any resources for new immigrants? Any advice that Desi veterans have for a rookie?
Cheers,
Don

You have not received any response probably because your title is misleading. Otherwise the CDs, especially most of the veterans here, are quite helpful when it comes to helping newly landed immigrants!
Quite a daring step you have taken, trying to help yourself rather than lamenting about the lack of jobs, considering the fact that you normally find many of the new and not so new immigrants complaining that the government is doing very little to hand over them a job in a platter.
