My mother-in-law is living with us in Mississauga. She came here on a visit visa. After six months, we applied for an extension for one year. This extension was granted and the expiry date of this extended visa is May 31, 2012. During her stay, my MIL did not leave Canada. She also has a multiple entry visa for US valid for 7 years from now. Can she visit US and return to Canada with the extended Canadian visa status? We heard that one can visit US (with valid US Visa) and return to Canada with a valid single Canadian entry visit visa multiple times. Experts, please advise. Thanks for your time.
She can travel between US and Canada on a single entry visa ... check .... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/visit/visit-faq01.asp
yes, \"puttoo\" is right. we just been to new jersey last week with my mom, she has multiple entry visa for Canada and USA. At Canadian border when we came back, officer didn't ask anything for her or even did not stamp her passport with new entry date. she still has her old exit date on passport.
But my question is, with multiple entry visa, visitor is allowed to stay only for 6 months and then have to leave or apply for an extension. Instead of applying for an extension can we go to USA(just to take exit from Canada) and come back as a fresh entry? did anyone have experience or tried this?
Thanks
Thank you very much for your info.
