Both are US sites that may or may not include contents on SOX (Sarbanes Oxley Act). I don't know if Canada has adopted any variation of SOX in its GAAP.

Well, there are many accounting and bookkeeping based websites where you can learn about accounting principles. You can consult with a charted accountant too regarding these principles.
The "accountingcoach" website that was suggested is a very helpful one, but if I may suggest, I think you should obtain textbooks from the Toronto or Mississauga library systems too, depending on where you are, delivered to a library branch that are nearest your home. It helps a lot that way.
