Members of several different religious groups plan to protest Toronto District School Board headquarters next week, demanding an end to Friday Muslim prayer services held at Valley Park Middle School.
The Jewish Defense League of Canada, Canadian Hindu Advocacy and a few Christian groups say they’ll also picket the North York school itself in the fall, as well as lobby politicians.
For three years, Valley Park at Don Mills Rd. and Overlea Blvd., has allowed an imam from a local mosque to run Friday prayers for Muslim students in the school’s cafeteria after lunch, during class time, from November to March.
The services have raised questions about the role of religion in a secular system, as well as concerns over gender equity given girls pray behind boys, at the back of the room. Girls who are menstruating sit apart, at the very back.

Agree completely. Schools and educational institutions shouldn't have anything to do with ANY religion. Keep them secular at any cost.

If they want their kids to pray in schools they should send them back to Pakistan - they will have plenty of time and opportunity to do this to their heart's content, while learning valuable additional lessons as well.
Well said http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/the-buck-stops-here/teaching-gita-compulsory-lessons/205602?hp
Politicians run the school board. They have already agreed to let the prayers go on. They claim that it does not force anybody. The courts, liberal as they are, would not go against the idea. Politically correct stand is to extend all the facilities to minorities (read muslims). If you are not convinced, as many of you would not be, read a couple of chapters at random from the book “America Alone” as each chapter contains very convincing arguments regarding Europe and Canada turning in to Muslim dominated countries in next 30 years. If you do not have time or cannot get the book, you can listen to some 20-30 minutes of interview of author on Youtube. I sincerely hope you would at least do some minimal effort before burying me with brickbats
