hello cd members , my 3 yr old son's passport expires in september
and i want to visit Buffalo for one day in august , so is it possible anyone gone through this
or shld it be valid for 6 months only then can i enter the U.S
any website where i can confirm this

Yes, you can travel.
As far as you are returning to Canada before PPT expiry.
US Border officer will remind you that your son's PPT is going to expire on so and so date and assures that you are aware of it.
If both parents are not travelling, just keep mother informed about the trip and keep child's birth cert with you. Once a while, they do concern about minors and cross check about other parent's awareness about trip.

Meeting people is easy. Having meaningful connections is the hard part.
A 3 year old can travel just on the Cdn birth certificate. Since the passport is there, you can carry it with you regardless of whether it's expiring or expired. If your son is a naturalized Cdn citizen, then you can show the Citizenship card.
The 6 month rule and staying within passport validaity rule applies to adults only.
