Hi AshwaniG,

My 9 years old son just came back from India on last 2 weeks ago.

BTW, for safe side have you tried with Airlines i think they have facilities to take care about kids under certain ages. what i heard when i was sending my son than airlines are charging little much of amount and than cabin crew will look after for them until they reaches the destination with safe hand at Delhi.

check with your airlines may they will help you out......

Sending your children as "unaccompanied minors" is perhaps the safest way to send them to India. Here is some more info in that http://www.jetairways.com/EN/BE/ProductAndServices/UnaccompaniedMinors.aspx

Just an FYI .... kids travelling as "unaccompanied minors" are charged full adult fare.

Thank you so much for this valuable information . I am much relieved now .
My only concern is how crew will handover kids to my relatives in India as visitors are not allowed inside airport .

Website says the following

The child is escorted to the aircraft and handed over to the Inflight Executive (IFE). On arrival at the destination the arrival staff will receive the UM from the IFE.

We ensure that an unaccompanied minor is never left alone at any point of time, as we are responsible for the child whilst with us. Unaccompanied Minors are seated near the galley so that crew can keep an eye on them.

At the destination, the Unaccompanied Minor is handed over only to the person stated in the UM form. If necessary, proof of identity may be requested.

that means You have to fill up the form here and you have to handover form to immigration officer in check-in time with detail name of person in india who is going to recieved minors

there should be some procedure from India side to get in the airport or Indian side person have to contact the flight counter with details about the travelling person with all information.....

Rgds

You fill in a form which designates the person who is going to recieve your children. The airlines in India calls and speaks to the person to confirm that he/she will collect the children.
Then on the day of arrival, they should contact the concerned airlines office at the airport and they will bring the children to that point.
For more details you should call the airlines and they will give you more information.
