Hello members,

I am member in this forum from last one year and after long thought I finally decided to land in Canada in October 2011. I am planning to land in Toronto. As suggested by few senior members in this forum, I am coming alone to start with, settle down and then only ask my wife and kid to pack everything in India and join me. I again need following suggestions from all of you:

1) Do’s and Don’ts before landing in Canada.
2) Short term accommodation- Is it advisable to book guest house for a week. Is one week good enough to search accommodation? I am ready for sharing accommodation initially.
3) Where to live considering I will be traveling a lot for job search etc.(To save travel cost and travel time for interview etc)
4) Job search- Is it advisable if I start applying from here.


I would request you to give some inputs as it will be very beneficial.
