I had renewed my passport last year successful with the Ottawa office. It was renewed for one year only, as per their decision, so whatever, I don't mind or care.
Now I am trying to renew it again because obviously since it was only for one year, it expires in Jan 2012.
I am a P.R with category as HC1 on back of card. Successfully went through all the steps within Canada to gain Residency, via Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.
Now suddenly, the Ottawa office has asked to me fill out these 2 extra forms, which I did so today as soon as they arrived, and send them back for further "review".
Has anyone here gone through this ? What is the reason for this extra headache and delay to complete 2 extra forms ? I have already gone through all this initially, with the same office, when my original Indian passport had expired and I had asked for a new one / renewed one, in 2009 !! At that time, they seemed to have no issue ( because there is none ! ) and had renewed it.
I am angry that no where on their website did they mention these "new" forms to fill out just because my P.R card says "HC1" on the back... what does this matter ???
If it was explained to me from the beginning I would have easily completed these "extra" forms long time ago in this miserable process of having to deal with them for a simple, passport renewal.
Also the questions on the "extra" two forms were complete BULLSHIT. No use whatsoever. The actual form for passport renewal is valid.
I even sent them a "search certificate" in 2009 issued by Canada to let them know that I had never taken any other citizenship besides the one I have always had since birth : INDIAN.
Has ANYONE here gone through this recently ? Such unnecessary delays .
I am alone here and I am homesick. I want to travel for two weeks soon, with my parents as they will vacation in South Africa. It's not like I even have to go to India .
Basically you want the cake and eat it too
You applied for Canada PR as a refugee from India. Majority of times, the reason will be accusations against Indian government e.g. you claim you are mistreated by Indian government or you may have claimed persecution in India
Whatever the reason may be, you cannot have Red carpet rolled out to you by Indian Consulate which represents the government and country you are against.
