Will the mobile/cell phones purchased from India work in Canada? For instance, samsung galaxy note.
Just thinking of getting one from India and using it with a sim from Wind or mobilicity.

Yes, It will work. Get is unlocked and 3G or some crap like that.
I am using my BB bought in India with an Indian SIM.
All the advanced items (like Ipad, I phone, Galaxy, Play book) cost a bomb in India, but people earn that much here to buy it. However for Canadians returning to India, it will be unaffordable. Better buy those stuff in Canada and come.

Sorry about the above post. I misread your post.
Guru's please advise.
My opinion is that they should work since the reverse is true.

Any GSM phone as long as as it is Quad band should work with all the major service providers anywhere in the world.

Wind mobile has this info
a) Must be compatible with our network. The WIND Mobile network uses a frequency called AWS, with bands 1700/2100.
Is AWS same as HSDPA ? I am too planning to get a Samsung Galaxy but am not sure if that would work with wind mobile.
