Hi , We landed to Toronto in year 2010, complted formalities , stayed 3 weeks got PR card and went back to Dubai . Now We are planning to immigrate canada permanently as our PR card will expire in year 2015 so we need to complete 2 years before that . I am chemical engineer and thinking to move to Fort Mcmurray . My querry is regarding my Wife . By grace of God She is Pregnent . We are planning to come canada in May- June . She will be 5 month pregnent by that time .
1. Once we move to Canada - Alberta state what is the procedure to get Medical registration - Health Insurance ?
2. As per my info . In ontario state it will take 3 months to get Govt.Health insurance but in Alberta state it is next day ? Is it true
3. How is medical facility in Alberta specifically in Fort Mcmurray ?
4. All advice / info - highly appreciated .

Yes you heard right - in Alberta you are covered from day 1 - although you have to get to the nearest registry and apply for your health card soon so you can start using it. and in the event you need to use the medical services before you get your card ( about 15 days) - then you will be reimbursed full amount once u do get your card. or another thing you can do is that follow up with the registry enquire bout your card and they might give you your health card number and you can happily go to the clinic or hospital with that =)
