Who started bringing up the names of these so called lesser known players. After you started backing up the selection or to select these lesser known players, people here used their record against Sachin's to let you know what you are debating has no steel but under false assumptions.

What I noticed is once the stats were compared, you bought up another player rather than defending your previous statements which included those names.

And If I were you before bringing up Mahela's century after 15/3, I would research myself whether Sachin faced those circumstances( I am sure he had few centuries when coming at this kind of situations) so that I could back up my statements.

Actually he had great expectations from Sachin that India has to win when ever he plays and if not, blame it on him. He himself says there are 11 players in the team and blames if the team loses when the rest do not perform.

"God" traditionally has liked to hide behind "The Wall" & he will follow "The Wall" soon.

but between SRT & RSD, VS & VVS will survive for another series. i hope VVS declares soon.

I. Who "started" what and who "compared" what?
The lesser known or players who played in lesser no. of test were "mentioned" and not as comparison, but as an example that those who were at their best one day, cannot be and have not been counted forever.
If that is justice even for ordinary mortals, should it be different for Sachin alone.
If you read the posts you will find there were only some crazy fans of Sachin, who "immediately" pounced on the names mentioned for comparison and derived sadistic pleasure.

II. There was this news item in The Hindu today "Well Done , Dravid", about BCCI felicitation function honoring Rahul Dravid. All the great players, past and present were present to honour the cricketer.
Rahul also made special mention about Saurav. Past players like Kumble, Laxman, Ganguly spoke and Dhoni spoke last.
This news report does not breathe a word about Sachin, whether present or absent at the function etc. That is the strangle hold he seems to have on this "Special Correspondent" and media in general.

III. When stats are compared,
that should be done against the players of the opposition against whom Sachin played in the recent series, like Bell, Pieterson, Ponting or Clarke, on the same wicket, in the same match and probably on the same day. Some of them have scored have double and even triple centuries.
As a fitting reply, not once did Sachin score a century to lift the team's morale and draw, if not win the game. For all this he is trumpeted to be "God", this, that etc. by a media for whatever reasons only known to them.

It was simply those others who "compared" Sachin with lesser known players to cover up this failure.

IV. What is wrong in comparing with one of the best performance of Mahila?
True cricket enthusiasts want, Mahila's 180 type innings, even he is opposition player.
Again if you believe Sachin is truly great, dig out how many such innings he played during the last 5 years.
Do not take sadistic pleasure from Mahila getting out for 5 in the 2nd innings.
