Immigration officer at border mistake and delay in PR card!!!!!! help

I landed on 11th April ‘2012 in Vancouver through US border to claim my residency. After waiting for 47 days( standard timeline), I called CIC call center to check status of my application on 19th june’2012 and was informed by the call center representative that the immigration officer at the border missed out on filling some information in the confirmation of PR form and my file has been sent to a unit on 8th june’2012 to retrieve and verify the information and this whole process could take another 3-4 months.

The issue is my passport is expiring soon and in order to renew my passport, I will need PR card in hand .The Indian Embassy is not willing to renew my passport without having PR card.On the other hand, some emergency has come up in India to attend and I have to leave as soon as possible. So, I won’t be able to renew my passport and won’t be able to obtain travel document abroad without renewed passport as well

Is there any way to contact PR card department and expedite the application?

hey just refer cic website they have given option if u need your PR card urgently, but iam not sure it applys in ur case also since there are some error, but you might get lucky, just give it a try,

Yea, tell them that you are willing to provide the missing info/documents needed to issue PR card.

Thanks Mani and jigz for replying. But I told them that I am willing to give the missing information but
They told me that I don't have to provide anything because the unit where the file has been sent will verify the information but it will cause delay.

I don't understand how can they make this mistake at the border.

Were the Officers at the Border humans like you and me or were they super-humans - who don't make any mistakes

Thanks SS for your input but I was not implying in that way. Sorry to say if they are letting people crossing the border without recording their date of entry and port of entry then I would call it a big mistake. Which I agree as a human being we can make mistakes.

I don't mind to wait for my card and let them fix their mistake but I have go to India due to some family emergency "which obviously u have nothing to do with"so u will not undersand the frustration.

Anyways,

kindly advice me else pls don't post anything .

You may travel back to India without PR card,

after or during completing your personal commitments, Apply for

(a) Travel document (permanent resident abroad) (IMM 5529)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp

(b) If time permits , Also apply for the renewal of passport while in India under Tatkal provision.

if you go for (b) also , then do (b) before (a).
