Hello All,
As most of the sen desis are already aware of my case where in the employer in saskatoon gave a wrong ROE to my wife ie with 100 hours less than actual hours worked and refused to listen to her repeated plea for the correct hours.
She wrote a detailed letter to SERVICE Canada asking for help.
SC has replied stating that they can not do anything about the hours as only the employer is the right person to put them on ROE. We cannot go back to the employer as last time he shouted and asked not to approach him ever again.
Now pls tell me what should we do ? Whom should we approach ? Police ? Court ? Whom ? This is becoming extremely difficult for us.
Thanks !
Dude,
Sorry to hear the above.
May be Hiren can help to solve your current problem.
I am not sure if you know, but HRDSC is helpless in this kind of situation.
In 2010, I got into a situation where a Desi agent cheated me of my govt. money. I complained to Service Canada (SC) but they said that they could not help me. Further more they told me and put a notice that I have to repay the govt. money that I gave to the Desi Agent.
SC will never help you my friend.
They only option is for you to beg/steal/bribe the book keeper to write a new ROE. May be Hiren can help you to get a new ROE.

Sir,
There are 10 people here who advice that never ever think of things like bribing as its canada and you will be in soup. But we did beg, and the employer refused.
Can we approach the MP of Saskatchewan now? or the CRA ?
How can someone do this fraud with us so easily and get away with it leaving us in the middle of now where ? It's NOT India right !
Did you try to go to Labour department in Provincial Government office? You can file a complaint there. Each employer is governed by employment standard act of the province they employ.
You can approach anybody - MP or CRA or whomsover you think. Nobody stops you and you may get some result.
There is no harm in trying.
Labour Deptt ? Ok we will try that too !
Tx for your time sir.
Dude,
I complained to the labor dept. against the Desi agent but they were not able to help.
I even tried to contact The Star (news paper) but the reporter never even replied.
MP/MLC is a good choice to complain. May be things will move faster with his call.
I am not sure if you know this but in Canada, if you get stuck in a rut, you can never come out of it.
Service Canada has a standard list of complaints that they will address but anything out of that list, you are in a loop.
I am not sure why you canot go and meet the book keeper and negotiate with her. Tell her that you will pay for the extra CPP/EI/Tax premium for the 100 or so hours lost. Buy her a 12 pack of beer and things may go right. Again this will be a result of a conversation and you should not offer these things straight. Otherwise she may think that you are trying to frame her.
If you still stick to your stand that your ROE does not show 100 hours of work actually done, you will be in a rut for ever.
I am sorry that you are in this situation but you really need to think out of the box ideas since complaining to the Govt. did not work.
Peace

I am surprised that Service Canada did not help you.... We have had to correct our ROE's for spelling, signature etc.....we had an employee who went to SC and they called us, instructing us to make the necessary changes.... They even mailed us blank ROE forms to resubmit.....
When there is a dispute, there are 2sides..... Each will claim they are right.... It then has to be proved, who is wrong..... Which will require formal complaint, investigation, evidence etc..... If your wife has timesheets to prove the number of actual hours she put in, a lawyer should be able to help you.... There are thousands of such lawyers available..... But this will be time consuming.....
Since time is of the essence, isn't it possible for your wife to put in extra hours at her current job to make up for the lost 100 hrs..... At 8hrs a day, it is an additional 12-15 days..... Which is anyways the minimum time to get help from whatever source you choose.... MP/CRA etc......
As regards what TK has advised above..... I hope you are wise enough to know right from wrong.... In your desperation, please do not make wrong choices....
