Hi,
Location : INdia . We are hopeful of getting the landing papers in a couple of months. ( We initiated the process 2.6 yrs back and have sent our passports to CHC).
My husband works for an s/w MNC in India; and could be deputed to USA/ Canada on a work permit ; maybe in Sept. QUESTION IS: Will a successful Canadian PR status hamper obtaining a work permit?
We plan to travel to canada for a month ( if we successfully obtain Landing papers ) and return back ( for certain resons ).

It all depends on the timing.
Here are you two scenarios:
1. Your PR approval come thru first - in this case, the work permit is unnecessary.
All you have to do is go to Canada, complete your landing, and start working the next day
2. Your husband's company applies for WP before you have received the PR visa - in this case, it is up to the consulate to decide whether to give you a visa or not.
If they don't, then wait for a few more weeks until you get the PR.
Then #1 above applies.

P.S. You mentioned US/Canada - just so you know, US is totally different and has nothing to do with your Canadian PR process.
If your husband's company is transferring him to the US, then it is a totally different ball game.
