if you are in an apartment and can't install a satellite or your balcony doesn't face the satellite area, is it possible to get indian channels by any way except rogers which is quite expensive.

Hi avantikaarora,
There are few channel boxes that you can buy however you may have to pay monthly $10 - 20 depends on the person who install it and his charges.
Else you can buy Jadoo tv http://jadootv.com/shop_ca.php
or you can watch online buy connecting your laptop thru HDMI cable to TV if you don't watch too many indian channels.
For everything mentioned above you need a good internet speed and download capacity as it streams thru your internet. Hope that helps.

I live in a house.Infact there is already a dish left by previous owners but I have no idea who installed it and if it can be of any use to me or not.There is a white cable also in the family room which I believe is for the dish.

The yearly subscription 50$ for 2 connections for whole year is not reliable. i.e. it often goes down. While if you subscibe from any private provider ( $ 20/ month) is as reliable as rogers and Bell and moreover you get lots of channels of your interest which cost you more than 100 $ if you want to use rogers and Bell. The only thing is that initially you have to buy dish and receiver which cost you couple of hundred bucks. If you are in apartment where you can't install a dish , you have option of rogers or Bell Fibe TV. You can use Jadoo receiver, but it uses data and you will ended up paying more on your internet bill as well as you compromise on quality of picture. If you need more detail information PM me.

Hey cool girl,
If you check the jadoo website then Jadoo box can be connected either thru RCA cable or HDMI cable. However in today's world clarity is priority which only HDMI cable can give compared with RCA cable.
Either cable you use - one port goes in Jadoo box other goes in TV. To answer your question is Yes. But again, you can use RCA cable if your TV is old and don't have HDMI port available.
