Nothing wrong with humility, but in my experience here, too much humility may be interpreted as a sign of weak self-confidence, even when its not the case. Its just not in the culture, here they love people who're good at what they do and who can be a bit brash when needed. That does not translate into rudeness though, there's a fine line that I'm unable to paint in words.
Besides, "Sir" ain't the prevailing vernacular. The only context I find myself using it in is jest.
Thirdly, I'm such a gentle guy, hardly the sheriff type.
