Hi , i am located in Saskatoon and currently have an offer to work in Nunavut . The job consists of working there for 4 weeks on and off . The offer is fulltime but not in the traditional sense since i will be working 60 - 80 hours for the time i am there and then none for the time i am back in Saskatoon. The employer is base in Saskatchewan but the work is in Saskatoon . So will it be counted towards the 1920 hours i have to work in order to apply for the SINP in Saskatchewan. Also will the fact that i am not working 40 hours every week and instead am working extra for the weeks i am there be a problem while applying for PR under the SINP. Please lemme know as soon as possible as i have to tell the employer of my decision regarding the job offer
There are errors in your questions, please clarify.
It will depend on how your employer writes in your paystubs and job letter. Also check if the employer is registered for SINP elligible employers.
I am sorry about that . The employer is based in saskatoon however the entire work will be in nunavut so i wont be working in saskatoon just my time off will be spent in saskatoon. What do you mean by what the employer writes in my paystub?? what should be the ideal case in regards for that ?? Thank you for the reply and any help is greatly appreciated
There should be SK address in the pay stub. Plus your job letter should mention that you are working for the SK based office. The job letter should not mention anything about Nunavut. If you know someone in Regina, ask if they can go to SINP office in Regina and get confirmed answers from them.
hmmm I did talk to the Regina office onthe phone but they say even they are not sure but i would have very poor chances of getting through . Acoording to them it would be decided at the time of application . i am currently on a post grad work permit which will rum till july 2013 . what do you think would my chances be of getting a work permit following the expiry of the post grad one provided this employer co operates . Again do you have any idea regarding moving to Nunavut itself . I called up the office there and it seems they do not have a nominee program and the person i talked to had no idea about work permits for migrants . again i appreciate the help thanks a lot
If the employer cooperates, the chances are very good. Assuning it is a genuine case.
Hi,
Why don't you work in Saskatoon only. There is no need to go out anywhere else.
You might not find the kind of job you looking for but there is no harm in doing a rest/hotel
job for 1-2 year. PLEASE ensure that your employer is registered for the SINP services and he gives you a correct joining letter, all correct pay stubs, and just before SINP, the approval letter. I would advice you to only work with a Brand like McD, Pizza Hut, Taco Times, Wallmart etc as they take care of all the paper formalities. Don't delay as time is running away fast.
All communication that you do with SINP/CIC/ SERVICE CANADA should also be on emails !
All the best !
