Hello CD,
My friend's wife is pregnant and they don't have anyone here. And I am not able to help them as this is off topic for me but at least can gather some information for them here.
What are the initial steps need to be taken care of?
Any pregnancy related yoga or any other classes for her that she can enroll?
Any other info that moms or dads can share here will highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
When she will have 7-8 months old pregnancy, her family doctor will appoint gynec & hospital for her. At that time Gynec / hospital arranges the tour to registered hospital, where all the information are given like to what to bring to hospital, charges, breastfeeding and many more.........Also she have to choose birth method whether she wants cesarean (c-section) or normal delivery...
right now....just get blood and urine checked and eat vitamins suggested by family doc.
Preg - yoga....i never heard of any classes......but you tube has baba ramdev's videos....when he was not politician......
Eat healthy, walk, stay happy, take care, routine check ups, and thats all.......

Thanks love_n_peace,
They been to the doc, gave some medicines and told nothing about food. What we heard from my work place thru another Asian lady that ramdev baba yoga are different than pregnancy yoga, not sure tho how true this is.
Also, for gynec do we get some preference to ask and how would we know that he/she is good for deliveries babies?
Btw, who will go for ceseceran rather than normal delivery? People prefer normal delivery off-course. If this is true about selecting a method then sounds so weird to me. I guess doctor has to select depends on the condition.
First of all, tell your friend to ask her doctor to refer her to a OB/ gynecologist. Depending on where your friend resides her doctor and hospital are refered. The earlier this happens the better. Unfortunatley there is no choice of a particular doctor here unless her family physician recomends and the OB`s office accepts her. Eventually your friend will be delivered at the hospital with OB on duty that day.
Also she has to contact the hospital for all the info love n peace has given you. I know Region of peel has hundreds of free programs related to pre and post patrum. she can call them if she resides there to enroll in prenatal classes, food and nutrition, baby and self care, where to seek help and all other issues.
She will be encouraged normal delivery by using various birth methods(in water, walking, massage chair, pain medication)at the hospital but she has an option to go for c-section if she wants to or the doctor will decide depending on the mother and baby`s situation. Hope this helps
Shriya.

Yes, there are yoga for pregnant woman.Yoga, excercise, healthy diet etc. will really help to get natural delivery. Some selfish doctors (Not all) prefer c-section as they can set a date aside for the operation and they don't have too many emergency cases or they don't have to work on uncertain times (of delivery). There is a movie called "The business of being born" watch it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMX3ahiOT3o" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMX3ahiOT3o It shows how c-section is a business for hospitals.
Not many people know, but you also have an option to have a personal nurse or so called "midwife" to have the delivery right in your own house. She will come for routine check up at your house plus she will try to have normal delivery at home. (unless incase of complexity during delivery) Just like we used to have "Daai" in backhome. Find out more for yourself here http://www.ontariomidwives.ca/midwife/q-a" target="_blank">http://www.ontariomidwives.ca/midwife/q-a</a>
