Did anyone watch Life of Pi? I had read the book and then watched. Enjoyed both the book and the movie.
Movies I watched on my looooong flights to China....
Descendants - intense and emotionally draining, but great movie
Brave and Ice Age 3 - what's not to love about animation !!
No strings attached - crappy masala
Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - I loved it

Never read the book.... Loved the movie.... My hubby found it a bit boring but my son found it engaging enough..... I might read the book for the nuances missed by the movie
One has to come to grips that there really is no story in Life of Pi, but there's plenty of subtle messages and humor. The book obviously brings out the details. But the movie was well made with 100% CGI bengal tiger and a swimming pool "pacific ocean".
Anyway, another 2 movies I enjoyed over the past weekend was English Vinglish and Oh My God.

I watched this movie around 3 months ago and can easily say this is one of my favourite ones. I watched several parts of the movie more than 2 times. The dialogues of the movie were great...lots of intellectual messages throughout the movie.
Irfan has done a great job as usual. And of course the way he says "None of us knows God until someone introduces us"

No trees were killed by this post, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
