Hello everyone,
Which gaming console will be much enjoyable for 5 yrs and 3 yrs old kids?
Xbox Kinect or Nintendo Wii?
I'd bet my money on the Kinect because there is NO controller, so nothing for kids to hold in their hand, drop etc.
But how about taking the kids to a store and letting them try out both and see which one they like? Worst case scenario - you'll have to buy both :-)

Are you there?
I have Wii from last 4 years and now my son would like to have Xbox Kinect.
I have few questions about Xbox Kinect.
1) Can we hack (soft mod / chip mod ) and play downloaded games on Kinect? if yes, which site is commonly used for downloading games. How easy to hack it?
2) How much it cost for Netflix and Youtube access?
(I have an account with Netflix and we are using from last 1.5 years. I think I'll need to be member of xbox 360 live and pay $5/month to have an access of Netflix on Kinect and this will be charge on top of my regular payment to Netflix. Am I right?)
3) How about Youtube access? (Do I need to pay any extra?)
4) Can I save downloaded games into External HD and connect to Kinect to play directly without game CD?
5) Which one you prefer 4 GB vs 250 GB? What would you suggest if I already have external drive of 250 GB?
6) What is regular cost of Kinect game?
Thanks

Difficult to hack xbox games. Some guys will sell pirated discs on Kijiji. I never tried it. Its better not to rely on soft mod discs for XBOX.
2) How much it cost for Netflix and Youtube access?
You need a XBOX live gold membership to access these apps. Gold will be 60$. Its on sale for 40$ sometimes.
3) How about Youtube access? (Do I need to pay any extra?)
Free with XBOX Live Gold membership. Doesn't work with silver membership.
4) Can I save downloaded games into External HD and connect to Kinect to play directly without game CD?
I think NO. I never tried it. CD is required all the time. Exception is when game downloaded from XBOX market place. The download will be saved in XBOX hard disk. Not external hard disk. Some one tried with external hard disk can add more info.
5) Which one you prefer 4 GB vs 250 GB? What would you suggest if I already have external drive of 250 GB?
250 GB is better. 100s of free demos are available in XBOX market place. Each demo will be about 1 GB and can be played for an hour.
6) What is regular cost of Kinect game?
Famous games will release for 50$ approx. After a month, they will be on sale for 20 - 30$. Games are like movies. If game is failed, price may drop to even 5$.
Note that few xbox games are Kinect. Most other games need controller.
Thanks Pokiri.
Does it have USB port?
if yes, can we connect USB external drive to Kinect and transfer downloaded demo or games to external drive?
Does it play movies/pictures/songs from external drive?
Does it stream movies/pictures/songs from computer in same network?

Thanks BlueLobster.
Any idea about what is the purpose of USB port on XBOX and Wii?
Officially they don't allow to store games on external drive and play.
Thanks
