Hi Guys,
I just received a letter to attend Canadian Citizenship oath. I am living in US and I have a baby boy who is just 1 month old. Me and my wife don't have any help over here so it will be very hard for her to manage without me for a long time. My aim is to get the passport and come back as soon as possible.

As suggested in above link I wont be able to apply for passport for first two days. So I would like to go with Urgent pick up option as listed below.

If anyone has ever tried urgent pick up service please advise. Because I am going to travel by a car and I am not sure what if the passport officer did not consider my written statement?

Get a letter from your employer that you are on a short leave.

IF your family is TRAVEL READY and can accompany you into Canada for the duration it takes you to get the Passport locally here, then, the first half of the problem in your posting is over.
Now for the second part, from my inquiries with my friends, this was DURING A STRIKE at the PASSPORT OFFICE....
The individual went in on a morning and filled in and paid the dues through the crack in the door... and the next afternoon after 14:00 hrs, i.e. TWO P.M. he/she got it through the crack in the door, that is about 30 hours. He/she was on the way out of this country by 17:30 on a flight. That was during an extremely difficult period. They are THAT GOOD.
