Hi ,
Has anyone tried the Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Phone .... Windmobile is currently selling this for $200/- or free on Wind Tab .

The good exceptional thing with this phone is that it has download able Nokia Ovi Maps for 110 countries and a free offline Navigation App - Drive ... which means you always have maps and navigation even when out of range / abroad and don't need a data connection unlike Google maps.
My biggest concern with this phone is that it has an LCD screen and not an AMOLED , hence may need to be cleaned pretty frequently for the smudges and grease and the viewing angle is narrow .... I can bear with the narrow viewing angle but wonder how to treat the smudges & marks ... can a screen protector help ?
If some CD has this phone , can he / she share whether the above is an issue and if yes how has this been dealt with ....

Are you there?
Lumia 710 is a good reasonably priced phone from Wind ... and as rightly observed battery issues can be managed with turning off un needed services like wifi / blue tooth and background apps ...
However I have let go the buying idea of this phone ever since I ve learnt that it will not be migrated to Windows Phone 8 which is the current OS .... It is perhaps better to wait for some more time and expect another Lumia on Wind .... as the next Windows Phone offering from Wind is going to be HTC 8X and not a Lumia ....
I have switched my attention to Huawei U8651T which is another capable entry level android gingerbread device priced @ $150/- from Wind ...... Any experience on this one folks ?

Agreed on not getting a Windows phone 7 phone now, it is behind the times. No experience with Huawei, but I'd go for a Samsung if I was going for and Android based phone - the S3 is a heavy favorite.

+1 for the S3... easily one of the top choices

No trees were killed by this post, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

The battery life of the Huawei is terrible. I have a different model and the battery needed to be charged almost everyday with minimal usage and apps running.
