Eating lunch late leads to obesity, says study By: Indo Asian News Service London, Jan 30 (IANS) Going in for a late lunch might actually make it harder for you to shed the pounds, according to researchers. Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston and the University of Murcia studied 420 overweight people who followed a 20-week weight-loss treatment programme in Spain. Half of the group ate lunch -- their biggest meal of the day -- before 3 p.m., while half ate later. Those who ate before 3 p.m. lost 30 percent more weight than those who dined later, the International Journal of Obesity reports. Senior author Frank Scheer, from Brigham said: "This is the first large-scale prospective study to demonstrate that the timing of meals predicts weight-loss effectiveness. Our results indicate that late eaters displayed a slower weight-loss rate and lost significantly less weight than early eaters." The team divided the participants into two groups: early eaters and late eaters. Early eaters ate lunch any time before 3 p.m. and late eaters, after 3 p.m. During the meal, 40 percent of the total daily calories were consumed, the Daily Mail reports. Researchers found that late eaters lost significantly less weight than early eaters, and displayed a much slower rate of weight loss. The researchers found that timing of other, smaller, meals did not play a role in the success of weight loss. readnews.php?id=99810 |

As per me best food is our indian Thali . Thali have all that our body needs , carbo hydrates , protein , vitamins , iron , calcium etc.. etc.. . Even all spices which we add have medicine and nutrition values . I believe one should not leave his basic food . I mean for most of indians its dal +subji + chapati + rice .
Each one is different and so each of these studies are. Tomorrow another study would reveal completely opposite scenario.
In general, all cultures across the world developed food and food habits based on local availability and needs. With globalization when we try to eat a food not designed for our body or climate conditions, it is definitely going to create problems. The food habits across US are same and so the most obsess people are in the south belt, as they are eating food suitable for cold climates and adverse for hot climates.

Stick to the basics and you'll be alright. Less outside, junk food, eat more of lentils, veggies, fruits and an ample intake of plain water. This alone could do wonders.
Our body doesn't only run with food and excercise, but also the kind of lifestyle we adapt. The stress level plays a crucial role as well as well as the happiness in our lives.
Need to have a balance diet and lifestyle.
At times it's easier said than done, but try.
