You are absolutely right. Once I tried to give them hard time by telling them that my phone number is in the do not call registry and I can complain about this, the caller in fact gave me hard time saying, go ahead and do that, knowing nothing can happen.

It is definitely very annoying. Last time they called us, my daughter answered the phone and innocently replied: "Duck cleaning? Sorry we don't have a duck.." and hanged up.

Legal stuff usually don't work with these goofs. Try something that you can amuse yourself with. I once spoke "chinese" with them and another time let the caller hear the pressure cooker letting off steam. Put the phone on speaker if the family wants to enjoy as well.
