I will forget about the day you left. You will know why later. Your 27 days will take you to 7th of JUNE 2010.

If you have filled in 27 days from the time of LANDING, then, you will need the additional 703 days. You were right.

The PR card says that the EXPIRY date of the card is 25th June 2015. Sure they are right too. You want to know why? It is because the day the card was made the date was 25th of June 2010, it's EXPIRY is after FIVE YEARS.

You want to play the game just under the wire. (What is that?) It will be 703 days prior to you completing the FIVE Years, which is 9th of May 2015. Yes you also get a few grace days. But don't take a chance.

Play it safe.

FH.

Under the wire
Horse racing: At the very last moment; in the nick of time; barely within some accepted parameters or limits. A wire stretched between two posts at the finish line at a HORSE RACE TRACK and the tip of the nose of the winning horses is captured on a movie or photo, which shows who is the winner by a hairs' breadth.

PRTD was issued on 28 May 2013 by AbuDhabi and reached me on 3 june 2013. I am a minor (17.5 years)and could not reach Canada on 7 June 2013 to fulfill my 730 days requirement .

I landed on 10/5/2010 and stayed in canada till 9 June 2010. I was a minor (14.5 years) when I was taken out of Canada by my Parents. My parents and brother were issued P R Cards but I had a problem with mine which needed a photo re take. This was not possible as I was out of canada This issue was explained to CIC Abu Dhabi when I applied for a PRTD to travel and they still issued me the PRTD

I would like to know the following.
1) Can I still travel on the 12th of June with my PRTD valid till 25 Nov 2013?

2) Will I have a problem applying for my P R Card as I have to attend school/ college in September 2013?

3) I heard that I may be reported at Port of Entry for mot meeting minimum 730 days( by 5 days) and in this case I would have to appeal.
If I am not reported I was advised that I should not apply for a P R Card till I fulfil my 730 days requirement. The non issue of PR card was not my fault. So will I be in trouble when I go to CIC and apply for one next week.

4) Without a P R Card, can I apply for school admission & OHIP health card.I have the landing document which mentions my P R Number. I also have a SIN Card issued.

An early reply would be appreciated.

Please keep a couple of copies of all of the correspondence that transpired between the CIC and yourself. You will need those copies for your defense if it calls for. (I do not think they will take any action against you.)

Your PRTD is valid till its expiry date.

When you land this time in Canada, ask the Immigration Officer for a picture taking session for the PR Card and pay for it if it calls for. Tell them you will be needing your PR Card in a hurry. In this instance, it will be a personal pick up from their office. So, they will not send it to any address you may provide them for its transmittal. Any way give them an address to which they can address the readiness for its pick up, which you can collect after your return. Also ask him if it is O.K. to use the PRTD. This is to confirm all of what we are discussing here. So, write all of the questions that you want the answers to and carry it along with you and get all of the RIGHT answers from them at the time of RE-ENTRY.

Now to the points.

1) YES. The PRTD is valid prior to your entry the second time.

2) It is preferable that you keep these thoughts out of your mind for the time being. Re-enter and go to any School or College or an University of your choice and enjoy your schooling. If they want to pursue a case against you AFTER you fulfill your required 730 days and applying for a renewal of your PR Card, let them do it. You cross the bridge when you come to it. You will get an indication from the Immigration officer, by looking him straight into his eyes, if there is going to be any problems. I can read their minds too. So, you start learning the trends and traits from these officers facial expressions and their pupils.

3) You hold on to the application filing till you fulfill the required 730 days or a few more and then apply. Also provide them with the copies of the correspondence you had with them and ask them to consider your case on HUMANITARIAN GROUNDS at that time with a covering letter. I see no problems in your case.

4) There are alternatives for the PR Card. Which is the Landing Paper. (Make copies of them now) You also have a stamping in your Passport. That should satisfy the Schools and the Universities. If they ask, tell them that it is delayed and will produce the same upon your receiving them. You have enough materials to satisfy the requirements of the local schooling. Make sure that you have all of your Inoculation and Vaccination certificates and any other Immunity certificates they are looking for, prior to your arrival here. Check the University and schools websites for their requirements too. Also get a local guardian here in Canada, written in a tangible form, just in case they need some one to provide you with help and guidance and authorization for any of the procedures for which it might become necessary.

When you are asking for the PR card, pay an extra 50 bucks for a speedy dispatch to you, the next time. Since you also have the ticket to travel out of Canada, provide them a photocopy of the same along with your application. See if it gets to the address that you will give at the Port of Entry. (At the airport)
AND if it arrives while you are outside of Canada, ask them to take a photocopy of the same and then COURIER it to you where ever you are going. If it ever gets to that address. !!

Dear FH

This is with regard to the above reply.

I think I was not clear in the above post. So Let me make myself clear.

1. I plan to travel to Canada and stay there . I have no intentions on returing to my mother country.

2. Considering point one , do I still make a request to the immigration officer for a picture taking session and do I still tell them that i would like to pick it up the card as and when it arrives, from their office?

3. If I am sick , can I use the health facilities with out the PR Card?

Your timely help has been of great service to me and I am grateful!
