Loveall
I am on CD for a decade now and know many of the posters personally .
I know quite a few posters who posted the rant in this original thread
http://canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=26694&page=4
Most of these guys who were hardworking and persistent are making a very good living and will not leave Canada under any circumstances .
I would like to see if someone from that thread comes forward and contradict .

@ Delhite, this is not my first post and also I am not a sleeper either :-) as I forgot my password of my other id hence I was trying to reset it and in this process I managed to reset password of my loveall id hence I posted under this id.
@AshwaniG, I agree and purpose of my post was to not to discourage anyone but show two sides of the coin and come prepared of any eventuality or opportunity.
I have also gone thru this struggle and I keep on telling new comer only one thing , that is
When you are trying settle you will get two kind of people, First type of people will say Canada has nothing to offer and there are only labor jobs available or no jobs where as Second type of people will say work hard , don't loose hope and you will find good job either in your field or some field and every thing will be alright.
I say to newcomer that both of these type of people are correct, if you listen to the first type of people you will never find jobs or will keep on working in labor jobs but if you listen to the second type of people you will find good job and will settle down in Canada, it is up-to you to whom to listen.
I would disagree to loveall.
EVen the unsucessful people are hard working people in Canada. I have seen many in Canada, where they have worked in factories all their life and it is such that the factories that they are in close down after 1 or 2 years and then they start fresh after that in another factory.
As per my experience and view, I see this in Canada (for Desi's).
1. IT people and people in Finance get the best shot in getting a professional job soonest.
2. Some people get into good factories like GSK, RIM etc. They start from $ 10 (in 2003) and now they are supervisors with $ 25 an hour, own houses and 2 cars etc... Seldom go to India. Hard to find these kind of people on CD.
3. Some get in to dead beat factories and get laid off every year. They struggle to find good factory jobs even after many years. These kind of people are not on CD at all.
4. Some people get into receptionist job, clerk job etc.. They get paid less but work is not dead beat. They slowly move up the ladder like getting a municipal job etc..
5. Some people come from Gulf and have a lot of money. They buy a house. They donot get a professional job. They leave their wife anc children and move back to the gulf.
6. Some people open restaurants or convenience store. They donot make much profit. Lottery is seen as a good income earner in convenience stores / mall kisoks.
7. Some rich and educated people come to canada and stuggle. They then decide that they were better off in India/ Gulf. They cut their losses and move on.
Other seniors can add more to it.

It should be extremely difficult to fail in the food/restaurant business. Look at the numbers.
Fixed Cost
Rent: 8000
Utilities: 2000
Fixed Salary: 5000
Total: 15,000
Income:
10 Weekends - each day 200 dishes with average $10 per dish = 20,000
30 weekdays - each day 50 dishes with average $10 per dish = 15,000
Total Gross Income: 35,000
Minus Food Cost - 25% of Gross Income = 9000
= 26,000
That means the profit is 11,000
Do you guys think these numbers are difficult to attain?
