Hi ,
Till recently I was using Magic Jack + Raza.com @ 1c/m for calling India ..
Recently MJ has prevented local access numbers of Raza.com as they want MJ Users to buy international minutes from them which is 2.8 c/m for India.
What are some cards / providers that can work with Magic Jack for calling India at a good rate ? ... I tried LocalPhone but they have also advised that MJ has prevented their VoIP numbers also ...
Any other combination CD s use with Magic Jack - please advise ....
Alternatively what other choices do I have if I wish to retain MJ ..
a. Use Google Voice .. I think its 1.6 c/m .
b. Ship over an MJ unit to India .. not very practical as I call other numbers as well.
c. Switch over to Free Phone Line ....
d. Switch over to Vonage ....
Please advise on popular services used ......Wondering if there are any well priced calling cards to India like Reliance and all ....

It all depends on your usage . If you have a heavy user for international calls and like to use different features like call forwarding e.t.c than Vonage may be a good choice . I am using it for last three years and never been happier .
Best feature I like is that you can forward your home phone # to any desired no you want to call and than connect to India e.t.c via your cell phone . I find it quite convenient . In short you can use your home phone as gateway to call anywhere from anywhere .
Hope that helps a little .

Thanks Folks ,
I did check out Xpresscall .. not sure abt the quality as the rep mentioned once I enter the 1 year contract , I am in and there are associated penalty for getting out mid term .
As of now , have purchased $10 worth of prepaid credit ... @ 2.9 c/m from Magic Jack as I am other wise satisfied with MJ ..... Shall try and check for some month before deciding to leave ...
Phone India also said that MJ prevents their service as well ... I will try India LD as mentioned by mrpandya ...
Any other cheaper calling cards / prepaid options to India are most welcome ..Please share .. Thanks .

Sooner or later MJ will prevent any long distance provider since they seem to be pushing their own LD service.
I do not have MJ. A few months ago a trick that I tried at my friend's place and seemed to work is to call long distance access numbers, so if you are in Toronto, call Kitchener access number of your long distance provider like localphone.com, it will ask for PIN but that seemed to work. You can try if it still works.
Localphone.com and Rebtel.com also have apps for mobile phones and they allow calls to be made over WiFi.
Rebtel also has a app that you can download and make calls from your PC.

If you have any other phone which can forward your call to calling card access number (Raza or other voip company), it works from MJ.
I am using MJ with unlimited internet from Acanac. Acanac provides home phone line free (not sure if it is only for first year). I was not using Acanac phone line at all but now I am using it and forwarding all calls to calling card access number.
From MJ, I dial acanac VOIP number and it goes to my calling card company and then I dial international number. There is no issue. It works.
