Hi CD's,
My husband is back in Toronto since July 4th. He has applied for initial documents and waiting to apply for OHIP. On the job front, he has updated his LinkedIn profile and started sending out resumes (9+ yrs exp in testing, 5+ETL testing). He is also in contact with Employment Ontario and is going to meet with Access employment. He is planning to do a Oracle certification very soon.
Is the path he is following land him a job in another 2 months or so? Suggestions please... Also, what is to be done to get a part time job to cover the expenses?
All depends on luck and positions open. Being in IT is a big blessing for him.
Hope the Canadian economy is doing good these days.
He can go to the food bank where he will be given free ration which can last him a couple of days. He has to enrol in multiple food banks to be given free rations for his whole stay. Donot be afraid to use the food bank. It is funded by rich people to serve the poor.
If he enrols in some English classes (free), he can get free TTC tickets which he can use for his travel.
You know my phone no. so give me a call for more info about how to survive in Canada without spending much.
Murali

If he is ok with minimum wage, then Tim Hortons should be fine. I see a lot of young desis(mostly on WPs) nowadays working at Timmys. If he is new to this culture, it will familiarise him with the way locals here work and in the process even improve his communication skills.
