To Lalitha - if the ambience of a work environment (keeping yourself busy away from home) is important for you more than a certain level of income range, you could consider a lower rate of pay (at $20 to $30), earn your reputation and work your way up. It will also give you time to feel around what it is to work in a Cdn company. However, be careful not to accept 'anything' as you may get stuck without career progress.

Are you even in touch with reality.
A newbie to Canada, with out Canadian experience and you are still looking at $ 20-30 an hour first job?
Good luck to the OP

Thanks Dimple for your views.
Anyways, I am not in Canada now and hence need not worry on who get a job or not. But I will be always there to help people who are suffering in Canada.
With this, I bid goodbye to just this thread.

Hi CD's,
I was going through the website for info on career bridge and there is only little. Has anybody done their intern-ship there or know of somebody who did?
To kick-off career bridge application, I need to get my credentials assessed. Is U of T the best place to do it? A person told me that one can put "U of T engineering, comparative" in the education field of the resume and not mention where exactly one completed his/her engineering!
Another thing is PEO registration, would they do a separate assessment even after I have done it through U of T? Is the LIEP program good?
One more thing, I did my language assessment at YMCA and am at LINC 8. They suggest to take up either ELT or OSLT, are these programs useful? ELT seems to have a work placement program.
I'm actually a little confused on what to do next.
Money isn't a matter now, I just want to get in but that doesn't mean that I have to rate myself low. I did hear from a few that if you are not asking what the market is offering the employer may feel that you are not worth it. I suppose for my field and experience 20-25/hr is the norm. My husband gets a little more but he has been given the job only based on a period of his 3-yr experience and not on his overall 9-yr experience.
