Hi Everyone,
I am thinking of buying a new home. Both me and my wife work in downtown. The budget I have in my mind is upto 400-410K. I dont want a very old house. Anything upto 0-7 years should be ok. New constructions will also be good(but would like to know disadvantages of buying new construction). I looked up few homes in Mississauga..they were either pricey or old. What are the other options I have (I dont want Brampton). I was considering Ajax as well. How is Ajax in terms of town to live?? Any feed back or ideas would be really appreciated.

TRY Vaughn - King City and south of.

If possible buy a home 20 years old (NEW CONSTRUCTION) got to be new,
with an acre of land. ( No children.) You will suffer for the next two years. Commute to Vaghn city subway for two years. Then bus to York., when the Subway system starts, it will take you to Vaughn and work in 50 minutes.
There are a few that I have seen, also ask a few Desi's who live there. Close to Major Mack.

Too late to hunt for one there this year. Brrr Too cold and snowy today.
I used to think like ' I do not want brampton' earlier. Lived in Etobicoke, bought home in Markham etc. But every weekend we were in Brampton or missisauga to meet and be with friends and relatives. Eventually changed the home to live in Brampton, bigger and better. There are better areas in Brampton. Life changed for good thereafter. Friends are like lifelines. Its not as dull as it was in Markham. Believe me if you have friends in Brampton or Sauga do not go to east side. Attending a family function will be pain if you have people this side. It is easy to say that we make friends whereever we live but I have seen mostly you are with one or two only. Better live near them. I have even givne up the idea to go and work in US in future. Your situation might be different than mine, just wanted to share personal experience. I did not like you saying 'i do not want brampton'.
Also since you are working in downtown, any place near go station will be good for you. and there are semis available in your budget.
So I was talking to couple of people from Brampton, they were saying that in traffic it takes good 15 to 20 mins to any go station if you are north of boivard drive which is were ppl are buying. Also from there downtown in GO train is more commute than Ajax etc. I agree with the point since most of my friends are in Sauga and that is why I am having this confusion. Friends are important but my everyday commute is 100 times more important.
