Hello Desis,
I am coming to Toronto for first time, I would like to hear from some one where I can find accommodation for 2-3 weeks till I find my own rented apartment.
Are there any good guesthouses on weekly basis or anyone willing to offer me paying guest accomodation.

Also Can i get PR card on my temporary guest house accomodation?

Do I need to carry lot of winter clothing in the month of July.

Do you think it is advisable to stay in downtown to make things easy.

And how fast i need to apply for PR card once I land and how and where to go and apply. I am sorry for showing so much of ignorance, but right advice would be ideal. as Now only I have started doing exercise before three weeks of my departure from India.

Can I do business ( as i am already in business in Hk and India) or I will have to do only Job?

Please post whatever information you can share.

hey..is it just you thats coming on your own? i may be able to find something either at my own place or with another place. downtown is not a bad idea, but you may be paying quite a bit more than if you were living in one of the other cities in Toronto. you dont need winter clothes in july, just bring a few sweaters for the night time, as well as full-length pants. it is summer here, and very hot i might add. business here is always possible, but you will have to get a job first, as experience is necessary. if you want a venture of your own of course, you can get into it right away if you have the funds, etc. i can find out about the PR card for you, i am not sure. but anyways, let me know about your staying plans, you can e mail me at i will see what i can do. also once you are here, if you need any other help, i can try my best. thanks and have a safe trip.

Welcome to Canada!

Would you mind if I ask you what is your intended profession? The reason for asking this is to just confirm whether Toronto is the right place for you or not. If you are connected with anything to do with Oil & Gas then Alberta is the right place for you.

Axxon

Well the timing is very good as the weather is good here. I would recommend staying in downtown as other members. About the address which you need to provide should be other than your temporary appartment as no body will take responsibility to had it over to you after you leave. I have arrived recently and it tood 45 days for my PR to arrive.

Business is definately to be analyzed by yourself after you have spent sometime here in canada.

Hope this helps

"electronic engineer"... "marketing".... "global" ... nice to know but that doesn't tell much!

What type of equipment? Are these equipment sold in Canada?
