Hi Guys
My son has a PIO card and recently got his new CDN passport. Is it required to get the new passport # in the PIO card or has anyone travelled recently with the old and new passport with PIO card.
if it is required do we go the Indian consulate in Toronto or BLS? Any recent experiences?
Thanks to all for reading this and replying.
After five visit of BLS we could apply for oci on the new passport for my daughter and son.VFS was much better than this. All four times, we booked appointment. First time the site was down, they have phone no. But dont even care to call. My husband had to drive 100 kms. Second time, they closed office for few days. Third time, all the documents were ok but even if you r applying for kids they ask all the originals and photocopies of both parents. Thiird time when my husband asked if the documents for kids r ok and same to be brought for parents, the lady said yes. But fourth time when he went with everything, she said, they want the citizenship certificate( the big paper copy) and not the small plastic card.so after five visits, we have finally submitted the applications last sat only. I hope we get back all originals in time. Good luck to you😄
Myself and my kids have travelled to India several times with OCI on old / expired PP and never had any issues .
If I am not mistaken than endorsement is MUST only when kids reach age of 18 and adults 55 .

Growing Old Is Mandatory ..Growing UP is Optional
Thanks, Ashwani.
I know many people have traveled with OCI along with new and old passport. So I am not worried about that. However my son has a PIO card. And a few people told me it is required to get the new passport number endorsed on the PIO card. However online I find a few opinion that it is OK to travel with PIO card and old and new passport. This has confused me... I do not ind getting the endorsement if it is required and can be done at CGI Toronto. But to go to BLS.. ow I do not hear good things about them... so that is another issue. Hence I am looking for people with first hand experience who have traveled with PIO card and old and new passport.

My son has a PIO card and he has travelled many times using his new passport whereas his PIO card has his old passport details. We carry his old passports as well and we have never faced any issues.
