Spouse Visa , its been 4 months CHC new delhi took Passport of my wife

Hi,
Just wanted to know how long spouse visa process can take(max.) after sending of passport to CHC new delhi to get it back.Its already been 4 months since they have received my wifes passport in the embassay. Any one with similar timelines at CHC new delhi,plz share your experiances.I dont know what the embassy does with the passports keeping them for 4months or more.They should do all the checks and then finally ask for passports,so that the passports can be returned quickly.

If I can say anything in favour for you, it will be only a guess. That will not be fair to you and your spouse.
You have a little time at your disposal so, use it to your advantage.
First find the Member of Parliament for your area. He has an office locally there. You have all of the details about your spouse, such as her Address there in India. Passport number, file number etc., Carry copies of any and all of the details that you can collect and meet with some one in his office on Monday, after you call them. They welcome you even without an appointment, so go there boldly and make a request that they speed up the process and let her in as soon as possible. Tell them that the seperation and the waiting is exceedingly too much and cannot bear it any longer. You want to get re-united with here here.
Also call a travel agent in India and find the available dates for the tickets to TORONTO? and see how long you will have to wait to get booking a seat, to get her here.
I am sure you can get things going very fast and she could be here with you within a period of 30 days. after his inquiries at the Delhi end.

Did you make your contact with the M.P. and give him all of the details and ask for his assistance in speeding up your wife's sponsorship at the Indian end.
If you did, cross your fingers and hope that the process gets speeded up. You will also hear from his office what the delay was about.
