Actually, this mother-son duo need to stick around. Looks like they will help bury the Congress that already has no pulse.

Either way Congress is going to meet the same fate but the process would be faster without Gandhis. Think about Congress Party without Gandhi family. They haven't let any other leader emerge or stay in power for long time.

This means once they leave there will be a huge vacuum of single central leadership and it to make things worse those little regional congress leader will create their own parties.

So essentially India will have to live with only one National Party - BJP. Not healthy for our country. We need to have good central opposition that can think of national issues.

Why do you think they will simply leave even if lost this badly? Trust me, there will always be a Gandhi offspring on the radar till time immemorial. Besides, public memory has a shortest time span that you or me could imagine.

Central opposition, just like BJP when Congress was at the helm of the affair. Right? How many walk-outs, session suspensions occurred and crores lost as a result while BJP was in opposition. How many important issues were taken up and closure granted while BJP was being so-called 'effective' opposition?

Good central opposition doesn't exist in India and never were.

So after vowing never to enter politics and then contesting regardless, vowing not to align with congress but doing so anyways, resigning in 49 days to contest LS elections and changing platform from anti corruption to anti-Modi, getting a good ass-kicking from voters who have had enough of his drama, then saying he will ask for fresh elections in Delhi , Kejriwal now wants a "referendum" to form govt. again???? With congress support?? Wow, just wow! Fine job this guy has done to destroy what the AAP should've stood for.

This person is fit to apply his broom in Tihar jail.
This time if he creates nuisance, then keep in mind.. his Godfather is at the helm, its not Shindhe like last time when he took the entire 26th Jan preparations for granted.
This time he will be taught such a lesson that the entire breed of politicians will remember for years to come.

Not an AK fan, but do not agree with few extreme posts here.

Dont understand the technicality of this episode - the judge believes that AK will indeed appear for the next hearing, but still wants him to post bail bond and surety. Why would you want to jail someone based on someone else's complaint? The charge has not been proven yet, the hearing is yet to begin and the defendent is already treated like a criminal? Something is not right here.

On a related note, now that he is in judicial custody does that qualify him to be labelled "tainted" (?) making him in-eligible for any AAP posts/activities...

Even though the matter is over, I could not understand his logic of 'referendum from the public' stance. Isn't conducting elections the same? So his referendum means taking 'opinion' from 'his' supporters, whose views are already public? Or to conduct some 'private' survey of the people of Delhi to gauge their reactions? The clarity in his approach and thought process is totally missing.

I dont expect a long life for AAP unless another more mature and clear headed leader takes over.

Hiren
