I am looking to get some training in SAP IS-U/CCS Module and/or ABAP. Does someone know any training centre or private coaching in this area? Online classes will do fine for me as well, if I could find someone in the GTA. Even better if it's in the Metro Vancouver/ Seattle area.
I am aware about SAP's official training centres in Vancouver. Quite expansive. Besides, they don't offer individual training, but Corporate.
As I am not in a hurry, I am also contemplating doing it in fast track mode when visiting Delhi next. So, if anyone is aware of any good training centre in the NCR Delhi too?
Thanks.
I did SAP authorized ABAP training & Certification from Siemens, New Delhi in 2006. They charged me 2.25 lacs for 5 weeks training and 25K for Certification exam. If you are good in any Object Oriented Language and have access to IDES, you can trying giving it a shot after studying the SAP's official study material. I did SCM certification through self study. I will PM you the details.

Thanks Delhite. I just sent you a PM.
2.25 lacs sound pretty high to me; although I am aware that SAP training costs higher compared to the other streams. In that case, may be I need to contact SAP official training centre here in Vancouver and if the cost is somewhat similar then I would choose to go with them.
I would however, first pursue the self study option. There are a couple of Indian SAP guys in my office for the same domain as I am looking for. Will probably ask them for more input as well.
Thanks.
There are tons of online - web based training (from people who are professionally employed as SAP professionals) who can coach you from India.
However, you need to pick the right person. Many offer a single free class so that you can evaluvate them.
My personal recommendation is not to self study. Get a professional and let him teach you the overall concepts. Then you can do self study.
I learnt SAP HR through 2 institutes (in the GTA) for around 60 hours each and learnt nothing. Then did a 20 hour course from a professional in the GTA (for $ 2500) and learnt all the concepts.
Hope this helps.

Thanks TK. Yes, you're right. I tried to read through some of SAP's help topics for the domain I am interested in, however it lead me to nowhere.
There are a couple of known Indian SAP guys in my office working in the same area. I will now try to contact them in order to see if they could help me for some fee. The good part is, I am trying to learn the same SAP module as the one implemented in my company. At least, I am well acquainted with the business terminologies and the associated applications.
Feb,
Indian guys from your office will charge in CAD but face to face interaction and teaching what your company does is a benefit.
However guys from India, are discounted (may be you will pay only 25-50% of the fees charged by Indians in Canada) but you will miss the face to face interaction.
If I were you, I would spend anything to learn SAP (which is very good for your career till the end of your professional life) and so I will go with the people from your office. But also remember that not all professionals are good teachers.
Hope this helps.

To build a career in SAP -
1. Invest in an SAP press book rather than online help on module of your choice. At times SAP certification material is not enough to understand the whole concept. Books provide the practical aspect as well brings your know how level nearer to actual project experience.
2. Get an online access to SAP system. or in case you are visiting India, arrange for an installation on a dedicated pc or hdd.
3. Continuous guidance from an experienced professional will help for sure. Ask the practical scenarios and how to solve them. Try to replicate the scenario in your practice system.
4. In case, there is no past experience then go for certification. Certification will enable your resume to be considered for discussions.
5. In case you are with company which implemented SAP, make your interest visible to the right people , seek transfer to the delivery/support organisation.
