Going by the track record of the last few months, common man has to conclude that all bespectacled species are equally dangerous whether it is MMS, Chidambaram, Modi or Jaitley.

Even when the Budget is not presented, to hike the railway fare by 14% can be described in one word "dishonesty". To say it had already been decided during the UPA term can only be called "hypocrisy". For the BJP to implement the UPA decision, they should have handed over the power back to MMS.

Subsequent fuel price hikes, the BJP has not covered themselves in glory, that being only to satisfy those who had sponsored their ticket to Delhi. Surprise of all surprises, the Times Now channel went on air to say that there is this CAG finding that all oil companies have cheated the people claiming that they are making losses, while the CAG finding is that their profits are over 50,000 crores during the period 2007 - 2012. But it was not on 9PM prime time when Arnab Goswami shouts from the roof top after downing a few pegs. It was morning 6AM, when none of the money bags would have got up from their beds. Otherwise the editor who sanctioned this news, would have lost his job.

Also precious little has been done on the black money front except appointment of commission and their writing letters to various countries. Their salaries and perks are again a waste of public money. It will be useful if some RTI goes on to enquire what are the salaries and perks enjoyed by this commission. The real commission if any enjoyed by them one will never know.Whatever is happening on this is a big cheating on the people of the country by Modi and his government, in the light of what had been achieved on the same subject of money stashed abroad by countries like UK, Germany and USA. If at all Modi is the action hero he is painted to be, he should hang upside down at least a dozen of the black money bags from hooks at India Gate. Their ill gotten money will automatically come back, instead of the commission writing letters and waiting for replies. All that only IF Modi really wants to do good to the people of India and be different from the stooge MMS was.

In the Industrial area where I work it is heart rending to see, young mothers carrying on their hip well dressed up young babies hardly a few years old, quite early in the morning, only to be dumped in day care centres. The emptiness in the kids faces must be seen to be believed. But only if the mothers work their 12 hours shift, they can at least hope to make both ends meet. All these because of consecutive fuel price hikes and consequent price hikes and for the unscrupulous to roll in their ill gotten wealth.

If Modi really wants to do good to these young mothers, he should give salaries fully paid leave of at least 3 years or allowances to these women to take care of their own health after delivery and that of their children whether it is public or private sector. If anybody consider it audacious, they should know that this paid leave is being enjoyed by all government employees and public sector undertakings. That they enjoyed this leave with retrospective effect after their kids had grown up to be 16 years is the comedy no country would have ever seen.
Why not women in small private factories? At least from this Budget? Are they slaves and not human beings?

Your first paragraph summed it all up. Mainstream Politics has become like a flow-chart, which goes like this.

Start -> Fight Elections -> If Won -> form Govt. -> If lost -> Sit in the opposition -> If formed the Govt. inquire the past Govt. and create committees/sub-committees, commissions, SIT, appoint a retired judge -> If sitting in the opposition -> halt parliament sessions, walk out, etc. -> Try to spend 5 years somehow doing nothing but earn every penny what was spent on the elections. -> End -> Start -> Fight Elections..........

Cometh another 10,000 years, and it will go on like this. For a common man, the inflation goes out of the roof every 5 years, though incrementally on a month to month basis. This time, it's Modi - the savior/the Rajnikanth of Politics; and next someone else. Only the faces are changed.

Then, we hate and bash Kejriwal for being undiplomatic and speaking what it is.

Good times in the offing, for sure?

I really wonder as to what is the definition of " Acche Din" for Indians.

* Is it rise in stock market?
* Is it rise in Property rates?

No one is really bothered about safety, education and healthcare. No one think of poor who cannot afford to send kids to private school. No one think of poor who can only go to government hospitals for treatment. No one talk about safety of women.

India can never grow till poor are treated and considered fairly and till the time corruption is no tolerance zone.

" Acche din" is surely for big corporates.

It is too early to criticize Modi ji and hope some wonder happens in our country. But if he also work in tradition ways as previous govt was working then nothing will happen. We need drastic and revolutionary steps to change everything.

Modi Ji, I have hopes from you.

Achhe din is for the economy since it is not doing that good. Corporates need to get their moolah quickly. When people have money to spend, it will boost the economy. That's the reason there is a big expectation (from me too) for income tax exemption to Rs. 3 - 5 lakhs. Also the savings under 80c could be raised to Rs. 1.5-2 lakhs. This will increase the savings rate for the people and also will have enough money in the pockets of the tax paying janata.

ache din has nothing to do with the system or the society. It's for the economy. BJP/NDA have got the majority in the Lok Sabha and has the support of Amma in the Rajya Sabha. Modi has a very good chance to push for his agenda and get it done since there will be less opposition. Reservation for women, security, improving the police and judiciary, etc can be done now.

Poor Khejriwal, his political life got electrocuted the moment he touched the power distribution companies run by the Tatas and Ambanis in Delhi. If only he too hiked the domestic power tariff rates by 14%, citing bad governance by Shiela Dixit, he would have been PM by now.

The sad part is he pressure intensely that forced him to apologize for what he does not need to.

The way Jaitley / Rajnath complaining about UPA appears to be a sheer follow up of Khrushchev's two envelop story.
