Dear friends I have got few kitchen appliances like Juicer, Ice Cream Maker, Grinder which run on 220 v. Would it be a good idea to bring them along and use through a transformer , has anyone done do, please share as these are almost new, branded and costly. I also have a sewing machine which is almost new. I mean wouldn't it be a good idea to bring them along instead of disposing them off for just peanuts and purchase the new ones after reaching Canada. Please advise. Tahnks
Yeah. Get a converter also and bring it along or you can get the converted for cheap here (Indian market).
However, know that, in Kijiji (second hand classifieds) you can also get very good , gently used items for peanuts here. Have bought for peanuts and sold for peanuts too.

Thanks TK , but I have heard most of the guys saying that it's not worthit bringing in 220 v stuff rather get the new one from here. So my appliances would work equally good with transformer !

TK said almost same ....
You can always buy new ones for cashews in Canada
You can always buy old one for peanuts in Canada
You can always bring 220 stuff and use at 120 in Canada
But one should never come without settlement/job plan to Canada

Bring only low Power kitchen devices (less than 250 Watts) and buy the appropriate Transformer here (CDN40/-)
Heavier devices (Weight and Power): better to buy here as and when you need them.
