JJ and her confidantes have been acquitted of of all charges by the Karnataka HC in the Disproportionate Assets Case which has been dragging in courts for 18 years. It is said if the SC has to be approached it can be done by the Karnataka State Government only. Whether they have the time or inclination to do so is doubtful.

This decision strengthens my belief that around 50% Judiciary is corrupt and another half can be politically influenced. Honest are exceptions.

A Delhite in Toronto
Agree Delhite.
There is an outrage in FB postings.
First it was Salman (where the conviction was pushed by 2 months) but then we will again see the JJ type justice only.
The second is JJ's acquital today. It assumes significance as they say that only the Karnataka Govt. can file an appeal in the SC and not anyone else.
It was a known thing that JJ used to purchase beach front properties (may be in the late 90's or early 2000) through Sasikala for a fraction of the price. Say for example, Sasikala saw a beach front property worth 10 crores, they would call the owner and ask then to sell it to them for 50 lakhs and that is one of the ways in which they amassed wealth.
Second known secret was that when her foster son got married, they went to Baalu jewellers and got what ever gold ornaments that they needed free of cost. The owner got a stroke and died soon afterwards. As Jewellery shops neve r give receipts, they escaped.
These are the only 2 incidents that I have heard (as one who is not interest in politcs). many more remain.
But one thing is certain. Never fight with a politican or a rich man in India. They will make you regret. Just go on doing your own duties in your own small way.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
According to the judge who acquitted her, if the total assets is higher and within 10% of the total income, then that is not a crime. Who made this rule?
First Salman Khan and now JJ. God save the system.
Today is just the initial day.
Once the judgement copy (the full set) is distributed, we will be having more stupid things out.
Wonder which kind of sane man can give this kind of judgement.
However, it is a field day for the media. First it was the salman issue and now this JJ issue. The channel is 24 hrs. covering this news.

JJ got acquittal may be because she happened to worship the correct gods this time around, unlike the last time when the case was in the sessions court.
During the time JJ was out of power, projects like Metro rail, additional canteens, buses etc., were put in cold storage unmindful of inconvenience caused to the people. We do not know whether those in power are for the people or vice versa.
Would have been good for the people, Congress and BJP in TN if those involved in 66 crore scam get 5 years RI and those involved in 212 crore scam get 20 years RI. But why would TN be poor if good things happen to its people.
Karnataka Government most likely would take the issue to the SC to keep the TN government under check on the Cauvery issue. And also the ruling Congress there have some ammunition against AIADMK in TN politics.

Putting Jayalalitha on front page will do no good. Case in point, just look at news reports on what is going on in Chennai. There is carnival atmosphere, all so called aam aadmis.
Mainstream media is just another gang member, and is hand in glove part of the drama. Besides these jokers are themselves compromised.
Instead, the social-media should focus on the judge. Splash the moron's face all over the web. Publish his list of assets and his wife's/kids/grand-kids assets. Hound him all over the place. This is the only way to destroy these kind of corrupt establishment lackeys.
