There are indian sweets everywhere .. why advertise?

Happy Diwali.

How was diwali in your neighbourhoods?

In my neighbourhood of Surrey, there were a few homes lit up (including mine). Some fireworks and a few loud ones. Decent but last year seemed better. I think the police were strict on fireworks this year.

Now to quickly move from Diwali lights to Halloween decos.

New immigrants don't know whre to get help frm whn they are new. I didn't know abt diwali sweets I.e home made like karanji..chakli and besan ladoo etc. Aftr 2-3 yrs, I cme to know about these shopz in Brampton. We r not talking about normal sweet shops.

my post is always about helping new comers. ;-) we had great time though our neighbours r most of thm whites. We called all children n enjoyed fireworks with thm. Absolutely wonderful time. Cheers!

In and around Toronto, most Gurdwara's did not have any fireworks, in honor of Cpl Cirillo.

At Samosa & Sweet Factory on Albion Road, they had a Mithai Mela at the adjoining Banquet Hall. OMG...Never seem so much mithai at one time. Their prices ranged from 2.99 to 5.99, with 3.99 being the average for most common ones.

Happy Diwali to all (though belated).
I was pleasently surprised to receive an international call from Full House to wish me Diwali. It was a nice experience talking to him and also this made me feel at home (Canada and CD).

Off Topic :

Have you any intention of coming back to Canada in future ? As a resident , not just tourist ?

Are there any advantages of having or maintaining Canadian citizenship in India ?

I mean besides traveling abroad where Canadian PP is readily accepted without a Visa as opposed to Indian PP which is hardly accepted anywhere . Whats the point of Canadian Citizenship in India ?

I mean will you renew your Canadian PP in India if it expires or if it has already expired ?

I think you can get your Indian Citizenship back ( not just OCI ) and Indian PP back , if you surrender your Canadian Citizenship.

OCI is a joke , its just a life time multi entry visa to India , nothing more nothing less. Unless India has a dual citizenship like lot of countries out there , OCI and PIO are just going to be jokes.
