lol..I read it in Dawn yesterday and also had a chuckle instantly. I am sure it's not really limited to Pakistanis, even the trend ensues among the Indo-Canadian candidates. Often at times, these immigrant candidates have a narrow sense of City Politics and just want their names and faces in public to be known. Majority of them have a flourishing Real Estate, Mortgage business, and are self-employed. Having their face plastered all over the city provides them with a publicity opportunity, which wouldn't have possible otherwise in normal circumstances, given Canadian laws that bar people from using public property for advertisement.

I, for one simply avoid voting these noobs and dumb-heads.
