I didn't notarized the copies. They looked at the originals at the counter. I think they changed it now.

I have also seen that line in the checklist but problem is that on phone 2 people have told me that self attested copies are fine.
I would prefer self attested than having them notarized as that would be big expense but at the same time also want to know what is really required and thats what I am no longer sure now. You sent all the notarized copies and yet they are asking for originals.
Febpreet, I believe you are telling about your PIO card experience and as you pointed out things may have changed now.
I'll try calling them again.

I think febpreet was talking about his PIO card application from 2 years ago. He has not applied for OCI yet and would be applying shortly.
ChandraGupt, did you send all the applications for your family by mail and if yes, did you send them all in one envelope or did you send them each separately in its own envelope?

Well I was again told by a BLS person that it is recommended to send each application in its own envelope, I did find that kind of strange. Anyways I am going to send them in one envelope.
Where did you get 20 docs notarized for $20?
