A letter to the prime minister of Canada.

Since moving to Canada from England, I have to say, I am totally appauled at a country which now see as racist, narrow minded and totally behind the times!!

My decision to immigrate to Canada came when I read the many advertisements that the Federal government placed in the ethnic newspapers in the UK. I came out here for a holiday, fell in love with Canada, applied for a landed immigrant visa and moved over in 2000. I did alot of research before I came over, speaking to the federal government and the various businesses within Vancouver. Ensuring my experience and qualifications would be accepted in Canada. Many times I was told that people with my skills were in demand and my qualifications would be fully recognised in Canada.

Since coming out to Canada, securing a stable permanent job has been all but impossible. The $20,000 that I bought over with me, to help start my life has all but gone. To date I have sent over 10,000 letters to various companies around Canada to secure a job, but to date, less than 1% of these companies has even bothered to reply to my letters. Even after numerous phone calls/emails to these people. When I do get in for an interview, I am told the same story over and over again. My command of the English language is excellant, my experience is above those of my Canadian counter parts, my qualifications are more suprerior than any Canadian university, yet becuase I am not a Canadian, I don't have any Canadian experience, hence not suitable for any job. I now even have Canadian citizenship, and yet that is still not good enough for any Canadian company.

This country is run by a group of old fashioned, dinosaur thinking people that have been called the baby boomers. These people live in a time gone 30 years ago and fail to move on. Yet these same people refus

You get Citizenship and you also get some qualifications from here and yet it is still the same....
