Is the daily withdrawal limit from ICICI's side & VISA's side or ONLY from the Canadian Bank ATM side.

I mean if you have $ 1,500 on the prepaid ICICI VISA travel card & the daily limit of CIBC, TD, RBC, BMO etc is $ 300.

Can you go to 5 different bank ATM's & withdraw $ 300 each from CIBC ATM , RBC ATM , BMO ATM etc ??

Will be a good way to get around the daily limit :) ..But if the limit is from ICICI's side or VISA's side..not much you can do :(

I guess the withdrawal limit is a good way of making money on transactions fees of $ 3 ..so instaed of 1 $ 1,500 withdrawal , you have to make 5 - $ 300 withdrawals & pay $ 3 transaction fee EACH time :(

withdrawal limits are set for the safety of the customer.. in case the card is stolen or lost !!

All our bank debit cards also have a preset daily ATM withdrawal limits on them. Its upto you later on if you want to increase those limits. I remember CIBC debit card had $500/day limit for me when I first opened the account. I had to call them up to increase it to $1200/day.... Same with my RBC account

ICICI bank Canada has only $300/day withdrawal limit for my chequing account. But as it is an Indian Bank & their call center is so advanced, it wants me to go personally in the bank & give a written letter with reasons on why I need to increase my daily ATM withdrawal money....funny

the point is you can call the bank to increase your daily cash withdrawal limit. After all its your own money......

It is a limit at the Canadian bank ATM; not from Visa or ICICI india from where the card was purchased. A genuine client would feel fleeced by these canadian banks/the $3 per transaction fee, a good way to make money !
Though banks may argue it is for customer protection, in case card is stolen etc.
