Indic/dharmic civilisation covered an area thrice the current size, including Tibet, Burma, Indochina, Indonesia, Central Asia and parts of western Asia. It was spread mainly by traders and sometimes by kings.

This area does not include the far-east(China, Japan, Korea), which was also strongly influenced by Indian civilisation as well.

it is important to seriously study why art, music and peace flourished during the days of Hinduism and Buddhism and now the same human beings living there don't even brush their teeth or shave but roam around with AK-47s.

Btw, the title of article 'How Gandhara became Kandahar" is misleading. It defies the logic and geography. Kandahar, was a city which is outside the boundaries of Gandhara. Then how can Gandhara turn into Kandahar ? This is true that city of Kandahar was named by an immigrant who came from Gandhar. Kandahar or quandhar stayed as kandahar. Gandhar actually turned into part of pakistan ( peshawar and islamabad). Same as Kuru is now part of punjab and haryana and Hastinapur is now Delhi.

No doubt it was a great hindu rashtra which was cut into pieces by invaders and today stand in its corrupt stage. Blame it on the hindu kings who went weak and 'peace' loving with advent of budhism, and paved way for plunder of ghajnavis and mughals. We have a very sad history.
