I dont understand Why People buy Brand New Car ??????? the minute you buy a brand new car and it leaves the car lot, it decreases in value.
Just go with one or two year old and you will save lot , plus you still be having enough warranty
I agree with RBO , dodge Caravan is over hyped , just go with mini SUV's they have enough space in them

Here are some reasons why people prefer to buy new and /or expensive cars even though every car is meant to take you from point A to B
1. Bragging rights
2. New Car smell ( new car scent doesn't do the same trick )
3. Knowing your car well from day 1 .
4. Reliability .
5. Possibility to write expense off if leased ( business owners )
I am sure there are plenty other reasons that justify to buy new car .
Dodge Caravan ca be a good value for money if you plan to drive it down to ground .

Growing Old Is Mandatory ..Growing UP is Optional
ask Questions to yourself to Decide on a New or Used Car..
Based on my 9 years experience at automobile dealership, benefits to buy used car (1 or 2 years old car)
1. you do not pay Freight and PDI
2. price will be lower than new car ( Huge depreciation period on new car is first one to three years)
3. once price is low (used car) obviously you save a lots of money on evil taxes too.
4. General tendency - when customer purchased new car they always spend extra money on Accessories - examples -tinting windows, undercoating, rustproofing, paint protection , fabric protection, remote starter, all weather mats, etc...etc.. all you get FREE because dealer won't charge extra for all above stuff which already installed in car.
Good decision - if you buy one to three years old car with low mileage (under 60,000 km)
•The reasons to buy new or used aren't the same for everyone
•Depreciation is the single largest expense of car ownership
•Maintaining a used car requires more time and money
see below link very informative to decide weather buy new or used car.

I think there are few brands and models which are worth buying in used. For example Honda, Toyota etc rather than going for new one. It makes sense to buy used car if motive is to go from place a to b economically.
But once you become brand cautious or want to drive luxury (or in competition with your relatives :-) ) , then thought of having used car takes a back seat.
Also, At times , if you get a good deal on a new car, ( such as minimal down payment and 200-300 monthly installments) , Worth evaluating such deals instead of discarding the idea altogether. for example buying in last quarter of the year. It might makes sense to buy a new one and pay for it over a period of time from regular income instead of shelling out lump sum amount on a used one.
